Su Doku Troubleshooting Guide

I. RUNNING THE PROGRAM

  • To run Su Doku Version 1.0 unpack the contents of the zip file into a suitable folder and then double click on SuDoku.exe to execute the program. An explanation of how to play the game can be obtained from within the program's help section.
  • To restore all in game settings to their default values delete the file "SuDoku.dat" located in the program directory.
  • This game requires Windows 95 or greater.

II. TROUBLESHOOTING

  • PROGRAM DOES NOT LOAD: If the program does not load and posts an error message as follows:
    1. "ERROR: Could not load window." Then try restarting the computer. If this does not remedy the problem, then there is either an internal problem with your version of Windows or you are not using Windows 95 or greater.
    2. "ERROR: Could not load "BackGrnd.bmp"" Then a necessary file is either missing or corrupted. Re-extract and/or re-download the contents of the package to remedy this problem. The program will not run without this file.
  • SOUND ISSUES: If sound does not play when you initially run the program then it probably is not turned on. Sound is turned off by default. If, however, sound does not play and it is turned on, check to ensure that sound can be played from your computer. As of this version the program only plays sound under one condition, when the user wins a game. If you would like to customize the sound that plays after a win simply copy your customized wave file into the program's directory and re-name it to "win.wav".

III. FEEDBACK

  • Because I am only one person and I only posses two computers (one of which is over ten years old) I can not feasible test this program under all conditions. If you are experiencing issues that are not addressed in this troubleshooting guide feel free to email me at schizointeractive@Yahoo.com and I will respond as soon as possible. Please try to include as detailed a description of the problem as possible. I would also appreciate any correspondence about this program's game play. Is it too hard, etc. Any feedback so long as it is helpful and not insulting would be appreciated.
