Staff Planner 2006 For Windows

The application works on Excel 97™ or later versions.

Evaluation Version

If you have an evaluation verson, it will expire after 30 days from agreeing to the licence agreement.
At anytime you can download a full version www.staff-planner.com/Download/Download.htm
that will import from the evaluation version into a full version without losing your data.

The full version has an import facility so that you can import data from other Staff Planners (Versions 3.1 &4.0).

Startup information

Staff Planner consists of a single excel file and a help file - StaffPlannerHelp.chm. They must be in the same folder.

1. Open the excel file.

2. If Excel's macro detection screen appears, click ENABLE MACROS - If you do not, the program will not work.

3. First startup

On first startup you will be presented with the license agreement. After agreeing to
it, your settings are saved and you can login to the application.
If you have a full (non-evaluation) version, you will be given the opportunity to make a
working copy of your files, leaving the original 'blank copy' for backup purposes.

You are then given an opportunity to run a short tutorial (recommended). You can come back to the tutorial at any time.

4. Login Levels

Select your login level, enter your password, and press OK to login. Only the 'Administrator' username has full access to all functions.

5. Help

Select Help on the Staff Planner toolbar to view the user manual - in particular the sections 'Getting Started' and 'Minimum Setup Requirements'.

You can also run Help from Windows Explorer by double-clicking the file 'StaffPlannerHelp'.

6. Tutorial

Select Help on the Staff Planner toolbar, and click 'Tutorial' to run the tutorial.

7. Excel 2000 and later versions

To run the application in Excel 2000 or later the Microsoft Excel Security
level must be set at Medium or Low. If you experience this problem see the Help Section
'Microsoft Security Levels'.
