Working With Quartz Compositions
Silica displays the Quartz Compositions to be converted in the Tray at the bottom of each document.
To add a Quartz Composition to a Project
- From the main menubar, choose File > Add Composition.
The displayed Open Panel allows you to add a single composition, multiple compositions, or a directory full of compositions. - Or, Click the Import button on the document toolbar.
- Or, Drag any combination of files and folders from the Finder onto the Composition Tray at the bottom of the document window.
To Remove a composition, select it and press the Delete key. Note: You may also cut-n-paste compositions between Silica projects.
Setting the Input Parameters for a Quartz Composition
Some Quartz Compositions require input parameters (or Ports) to execute properly. If a composition has any input parameters, they will be displayed in the Input Parameters pane to the bottom right of the document window.
NOTE: Before you proceed, be aware that not all Quartz Compositions are good candidates for conversion to movie form. Compositions that rely on interactive patches or contain audio processing may not be handled properly. Also since rendering is done offline, any composition that depends on realtime elements may not render properly.
