Assessing Your Keyboard Use
----------------------------------------
Before configuring RSI KeySwap, it can be useful to assess your use of
the computer keyboard and try to work out how any strain is being
caused. For example, right-handed users may often find that strain is
being placed upon the smaller fingers of the right hand and on the
tendons in the right forearm by continuously moving between the
Backspace and Enter keys and the mouse (if positioned on the right
hand). In this case, it can help to swap the functions of commonly-used
keys on the right hand, such as Backspace and Enter, with less
frequently-used keys on the left-hand side such as Caps Lock and
Escape.
In general, when assessing your use of the computer keyboard, it helps
to try to work out which fingers and parts of the hand are under the
most strain, and swap the functions of keys they are using frequently
over to keys in another area of the keyboard.
