Installation
Game Installation

First, have the game client downloaded. It can be reached here.

Second, unzip the game client. If your computer have no winzip built in, you can get it from here.

To run the game, run the executable file named "Aranock_Online". It should look like this .

If you have no idea where to extract the files to, create a folder on desktop and extract the game client into the folder.



Handling Graphics Update

What is Graphics update ?
Graphics update comes in image files format(.png).
Or they may come in a zip file. It should contain the image files.

Updating...
To have them updated properly, you have to create a folder named "gfx" IF it does not exist.
This gfx folder must be placed in the folder where your game client is.

Then place the image files in the gfx folder.



Handling Packed Graphics Update

What is Packed Graphics update ?
Packed Graphics update are updates of new graphics for the game.
They come in 4 files which are: gx00.dat , gx00.idx , pnglib.dat , pnglib.idx .
They are most probably contained in a zip file.

Updating...
To update them, if they are in a zip file, extract them.
Then have them replace the old packed graphics files (gx00.dat, gx00.idx, pnglib.dat, pnglib.idx).
These files should be existing in the folder where the game client is.



Character
Creating New Character

Run the game client. You should be able to see a window like this.

To create new character, first u will have to click on "Create new Account".

1. Type in the name you wanted for your character.
Password field is for security, it can be left empty.

2. Choose a gender, they look a little different in game.

3. Enter a description for your character.
It should contain your chracter name at least once.
It can be left empty.

4. Choosing a race. There are 3 basic races, Templar, Mercenary, Harakim.
Templar - they are fighters. (recommended for beginners)
Harakim - they are spellers.
Mercenary - they are mix class, having a balance of spells and fighting skills.
The rest of the races can only be attain in game after some requirements are met.

After you have done with those above, click "Start".



Saving Character

Saving your character is important!
Saving your character will create a character file.You need it to play your character!

After you had successfully enter the game, your character is ready to be saved.
Exit your character from the game.

Run the client and click the "Save" button. Save it anywhere you like.
It is recommended that you save it in the same folder as your game client, it will be easier to find it.



Loading Character

If you have more than one character and you wish to switch to another character, you will have to load your character file.

Click the "Load" button.
Find the character file which you would like to play and load it.

P.S: If you have a character which is already loaded, you need to have it saved.
If it is not saved and you load another character or create a new character, you will not be able to access to your unsaved character anymore.



Basic of Aranock
Overview

1. Attributes / Skills / Spells - This is where your characters's Attributes, Skills and Spells level can be found.
Use the Up or Down Arrows to search for the Skills / Spells you want.
More infomation about these can be found here under Skills & Spells.

2. Exp in Update - This is where your unspent experience point will be stored. In game, exp stored here are called "exp in update".
Exp stored here are used to up your characters Attributes, Skills and Spells in (1).
More explanation on how to level your skills can be found under Improving Attribute/Skills/Spells.

3. Hitpoints(Hp) - Your chracter's life. If it goes down to 0, your character dies.
Endurance(End) - Used for walking, fighting, mining and shouting. It will slowly get deducted as you do any of these.
Mana(Mana) - Used to cast spells.
Hp and End recovers at a slow speed automatically. It can be fasten by getting skills Regenerate and Rest.
You need a skill, Meditate, to recover Mana. Templars do not have it, use recovery items.

4. Inventory/Backpack - It can hold up to 40 items.

5. Equipment - Shows the equiped items.

6. Purse -Left Click on any of then to take out money. Right Click to check what is the amount to take out.

7.
1. Character's Name and Actions and Rank.
The character figure reflects what the character is doing in Aranock.
2. Character's Hitpoints, Endurance and Mana.
3. Character's Name.
4. Character's Rank Name.
5. Character's Money in Purse.

The 3 green bars are the amount of Hitpoints, Endurance and Mana left.
Those in blue are how much you have used.
When you look at other characters or monsters the bars might become longer or shorter, depending on how much more or less Hp, End, Mana the viewed have compared to your character's.
This shows the monster/character have more Hp, End, Mana than your character.

8. Dialog box. Speech, infomation, and lots other information will appear here.

9. Weapon Value - Attack Power of your character.
Armor Value - Defence Power of your character.
Experience - Total Experience gained, spent and unspent.

10. Mini map - Center white dot is where you are.

11. North, South, East, West indication.

12. Spells Shortcut - Spells can be assigned here and accessed using shortcut keys.
Assigning Spells - Right click on a spell, spells can be found in Attributes, Skills and Spells(1).
Next Right Click on the slot you wish in (12) to assign them to it.
Shortcut Keys - The keys to activate the shortcuts are: Shift + (F1 to F12). It goes in Left to Right then Up to Down order.
Example... on the screen above, Shift + F1 is Bless, Shift + F4 is Guardian, Shift + F5 is Light and Shift + F12 is Warcry.

13. Settings of Character and Game. This can also be accessed by clicking on it or using Keys F1 to F12.
Fast, Normal, Slow - F1, F2, F3 - This determines how fast your character walk, fight, mine and other stuffs.
Health, Names - F4, F7 - These will determine if Health and Names of character/monsters you met in game will be displayed.
Hide - F6 - This will hide the walls, providing better view of things around your character.

14. Aranock. This place is Aranock, where you will be interacting the most with the game.

Circled Pads - Clicking on these pads will command your character to keep moving in the pad direction.



Basic Controls

Left Click - use, activate, walk

on Spells - Clicking on spells whether in Attributes/Skills/Spells(1) or Shortcuts(12) will cast the spells.

on Items - Use or Activate the item.

on Items (with an item On Hand) - Merge the 2 items together, if they can be merged. The item clicked will be used/activated if they are not meant to or cannot be merged.

in Aranock - Will set a destination on where you clicked and your character will walk to it.


Shift + Left Click - take, drop, pick up, use objects (note: there can only be 1 item On Hand at a time)

on Items (in Inventory(4) or Equipment(5)) - It will have the item to be On Hand/On Cursor. You will be able to move it around, and Shift + Left Click again to put it down anywhere.

on Items (in Aranock) - Clicking on this item will... Your character will move to it and pick the item up.
If your Inventory(4) is full, the item will be picked up On Hand/On Cursor.

in Aranock (with an item On Hand) - Your character will drop the item on the spot clicked.

on Trashbin (with an item On Hand) - The item on hand will be disposed!

on Graves - The Grave will be searched, a pop up holding all items in the Grave will appear.

on Objects - Shift click it and... different objects have different uses and effects. Try them.

on Special Objects (with an special item On Hand) - For some special cases, you might be able to put some item on a Special Object.


Ctrl + Left Click - attack, give item

on Other Character or Monster - A attack sign will appear on the target. Your character will move to it and attack it.

on Other Character or Monster (with an item On Hand) - Your character will walk over and give the item On Hand to the target.

Alt + Left Click - select

on Character or Monster - The target will be selected. Then you will be able to do things like cast spells on the target.


Right Click, Shift + Right Click, Ctrl + Right Click, Alt + Right Click - look, read, get infomation

on Spells/Items/Objects/Characters/Monsters - The description of the Spells/Items/Objects/Characters/Monsters will be shown in dialog box(8).

in Aranock - Will make your character face the direction you have clicked.



Basic Commands

/tell <player name> <message> - send a message to the specific player.

/shout <msg> - shout out the message where everyone in the game will be able to see. Use up 25 Endurance.

/fight - turn auto fight back On or Off.

/spellignore - turn auto fight back to whoever who casted a negative spell on you On or Off.

/who - view who is online and where they are.

/time - show the time in Aranock.

/rank - show how much more Exp are needed for the next rank.

/help - for a whole list of Commands.



Buy / Sell Items

When you look(Alt/Ctrl + Right Click) at a NPC(Non Player Character), if he Buy / Sell Items, a pop up(the one in Red Rectangle) will appear.

The price of the item your cursor went to will be shown in the Red Circle.
Left Click on the Item to buy.

If you have an item on hand, the amount the NPC is willing to pay for will be shown in the Red Circle.
Howerver, NPC does not accept all kinds of items, you have to find the correct NPC to sell the correct items.
Left Click with Item On Hand in the pop up to Sell.

If your inventory is full, you will not be able to buy any item.



Equip Items

To equip items, Take(shift + left click) a Armor/Weapon, it will then be On Hand/On Cursor.
Then Drop(shift + left click with item on hand) it on the correct spot in Equipment(8).

1. Helmet
2. Cloak
3. Armor
4. Sleeves
5. Amulet
6. Belt
7. Weapon / Pick Axe / Torch
8. Misc Eq. (Torch)
9 & 10. Rings
11. Leggings
12. Boots

Weapons can only be equipped at (7.)Left Hand.
If (7.)Left Hand is equipped with a Two Handed Weapon(eg.. Two Handed Sword, Pick Axe), you cannot equip anything on (8.)Right Hand.

When you try to equip a item, and you receive a similar error message like this,
It means that your character's BASE Attributes do not meet the requirements to wear the item.

The values in Attributes/Skills/Spells(1) are most probably not the Base value.
They are Modified Values, which means that they might be modified by Items, Spells or Drugs.

To see your Base Attributes values, cast a spell named Identify on your own character.
Casting Identify with an item On Hand/On Cursor, will enable you to view the requirements needed for the item.
Identify will not be available in the beginning. You have to learn it by doing certain Quest.

Casting Spells

To cast spells, Click on the Spells in the Attributes/Skills/Spells(1) or use the Shortcuts(12).

To cast spells on yourself, you do not have to select yourself. The default target is Self.

To cast spells on others, you have to select your target first then cast the spells.
If you do not know how to select Characters/Monsters, go here.

If your spells have been casted Successfully, you should be able to see the spells icons for some of the spells.

When the spells icons are still bright, it indicates that the spells are still new.

But when the icon is fading off, the spells might run out anytime soon.

Sometimes, you might fail to cast a spell, this will be shown in your dialog box(8)
Mana will still be deducted even if you have failed to cast it.



Leveling

In Aranock, as players level up, they gain a Rank.

Use /rank command to check how much more Experience Points(Exp) is needed for next Rank.

Before
After

When you Rank, your character will be given Hitpoints, Endurance and Mana.
Templar - 15 Hp, 10 End, 10 Mana
Harakim - 5 Hp, 10 End, 15 Mana
Mercenary - 10 Hp, 10 End, 10Mana

Improving Attributes/Skills/Spells(Attributes)

Column 1. Names of Attributes.
Column 2. Modified Values(Mod Values) of Attributes.
Column 3. Plus Sign for incrementing the Respective Attributes.
Column 4. Minus Sign for undoing increment done on the Respective Attributes.
Column 5. Experience Points(Exp) Needed to up the Attributes by 1.

6. Update Button and Exp in Update, the unspent Exp.

The Plus Sign will only appear when Exp In Update is more than or equal to the Exp Needed for the respective Attributes.
And of course, the Minus Sign will only appear after the Plus Sign is clicked.
You can undo the increment using the Minus Sign.

Now the Attribute Dagger's Plus Sign will be clicked again.
Take note of the Dagger's Mod Values, Dagger's Exp Need, Willpower and Intuition Plus Sign and the Exp in Update.

Remember to click the Update Button if you want to confirm the increment.
Or else, your character's Attribute Value will not change even though it has shown a higher value on screen.

After you click the Update Button, this is how it looks like.

There will no longer be any Minus Sign if the Update Button is Clicked.
You will not be able to undo the changes once you click the Update Button.



Making Potions

Ingredients : Small Red Flower OR Small Purple Flower and an Empty Bottle.

To make a potion, take(shift + left click) the ingredient On Hand, then use(left click) on the Empty Bottle.

You will get a Healing Potion if you used Red Flower as Ingredient, or a Mana Potion if you used Purple Flower.



Mining

The mines are located North of Temple of Skua.

To mine effectively, buy a Pickaxe from Gina and equip it.
Mining with other weapons is possible but it will be much slower.

1. Mine wall, when you look(shift + right click) at it, the hardness of wall will be shown in the dialog box. The softer the wall is, the easier to mine it.

2. Rubble, when a mine wall is mined completely, it will become rubble. When you pick up(shift + left click) the rubble, there will be a chance to find a Gem or a Gold/Silver Nuggets, or even a Agressive Monster will rose from it.

Mine(Shift + Left Click) the wall to start bringing it down to rubble.

Mining uses much more Endurance as compared to Fighting/Walking.

There are Three Levels of mine.
On the First Level, you will only be able to find Silver Nuggets, Small Gems or a Skeleton from the rubbles.
On the Second Level, you will be able to find Gold/Silver Nuggets, Medium/Big Gems or a Golem.
On the Third Level, you will be able to find Gold Nuggets, Big/Huge Gems or a Gargoyle.



Exiting Game


Please DO NOT use the Exit(F12) in Settings to exit the Game!
That is for Closing the Application(Window), not to exit Aranock.

To exit Aranock properly, you have to enter a Tavern. The Tavern is located just West of Temple of Skua.

Go Pass the Yellow Line to exit Aranock properly.

After exiting Aranock properly, you may click on the Exit(F12) in Settings to close the window or it will be closed automatically after sometime.

The Beginning
Starting Out

When your character is created, he should be in the Temple of Skua of Aranock.
Everything is black, hidden. Take a step(left click on a square nearby) and everything will be shown.

You have a Armor, a Weapon and 2 Gold in your purse.

Prepare yourself for battle, get a full set of protection gears using your 2 Gold.
You can buy the basic gears (Cloth Armors) from Ruth, she is in The Market.

The Market is located just East of Temple of Skua.

A full set of protective gear includes:
Helmet
Armor
Cloak
Sleeves
Leggings
Boots

All new characters start out wearing Cloth Armor.
If you do not know how to equip items, go here.

Take note of your Armor Value, it will increase as you put on more protection gears.



First Quest

Jamil, a NPC(Non Player Character), gives the first quest. Go to him and say "hi".
Jamil's House is located just South of The Market, Ruth Shop.

Take note of what Jamil say(Yellow Arrow). He wants the Gold Amulet from Thieves House.

Go to Thieves House, it is located East of The Market, Ruth Shop.

Before entering it, it will be good to Read(shift + right click) the Sign(circled in red) which stands infront of the building, to confirm the location and to gather information about it.

The Sign reads... The Thieves House. Requires a PFC or two Privates.
If your character is a Private, do not worry. If you had followed the Starting Out Guide to prepare for battle and spell yourself up with Protect, your character will do fine in The Thieves House.
Cast Light on yourself if it is dark.
If you do not know how to cast Spells, go here.
If you do not know how to see your character's Rank(eg. Private, PFC), go here.

When your character is ready, enter the room and start fighting your first enemy, Kill it!

After your character kills it, the grave of the enemy will appear.
Use/Search(shift + left click) the grave, a pop up will appear showing all the items that the enemy is carrying.
Left Click on any of the items to take them into your inventory. This Thief does not have the Gold Amulet!

More importantly, for killing the Thief.
As this is the First Weak Thief you killed, you get Bonus Experience Point.

With all the Experience Points(Exp) gained, your character attained the Exp needed for the next Rank/Level..

Continue with the Quest. Fight your way in and you will find a locked door.

Go to the door just East of the locked door(circled in yellow). The Thief behind the door(circled in yellow) holds the key to the locked door.

Kill it, check its Grave(shift + left click), take the Key, and go to the locked door.

There should be 2 thieves behind the locked door, and one of them carries the Gold Amulet!
Kill them both and search the graves for it, take it.

Now you have the Gold Amulet with you, go back to Jamil's house and give him the Gold Amulet.

First Quest Done!!



First Attributes to Up

Characters start out with Braveness, Willpower, Intuition, Strength, Agility at Base 10.
And Spells and Skills at Base 1 to 4.

If your character is a Templar or Mercenary.
It is recommended to improve your character's Strength and Agility by 2 each as the first Attributes.

If your character is a Harakim.
It is recommended to improve your character's Spells(Protect, Blast) as Harakim needs alot more Exp to up Strength and Agility.

The second grade protective gears, Leather Armors, gives 2 Armor Value per piece of armor.
The requirements of Leather Armors is 12 Strength and 12 Agility.
Change the armor and your Armor Value will be Doubled!

It will be good for any Race to up Weapon Skills too!
Weapon skills are the most or one of the most Important skills in Aranock.
It determines your character's Chances of Hitting and Getting Hit in a Fight.
The Higher the weapon skill is, the More you Hit and the Less you Get Hit and vice versa.

Weapon skills...
Templar usually uses Two Handed.
Mercenary usually uses Sword.
Harakim usually uses Dagger.

After First Quest

It is recommended to explore Aranock.
Walk around the town to know more about Aranock.

As you get to know about Aranock, you will know who gives quest and the quest location.

Before entering any buildings in Aranock, it will be good to Read the Sign that stands outside the building.

If there is no Sign, the building is mostly probably safe to enter.

Sirjan, gives the second easiest Quest. You are recommended to bring some recovery items along for the quest.

Some Game Knowledge

Areas with Recovery Items

Recovery items like Red Flower(+10 Hitpoints, + 15 End, +5 Mana) and Purple Flower(+15 Mana, -5 Hitpoints) can be found almost everywhere in Aranock.

There are 3 places that have plenty of those:

1. Memorial Park.
2. All the way West of Mines Entrance.
3. Strange Forest (Too Dangerous for New Players)

In Memorial Park, you can find Mushrooms too!
They are good help to Low Ranks Characters. Mushrooms gives...
-2 Willpower
+1 Intuition
-2 Agility
+1 Strength
+10 Hitpoints
+5 Mana
+5 Perception
+3 Resistance
+3 Weapon Value
+3 Armor Value



Hidden Room

There are a lot of Hidden Rooms in Aranock.
Hidden Rooms usually holds Key Items or Open Ways to continue your journey.

There is an easy way to find Hidden Rooms, the Mini Map!

The underground minimap shown above has all the rooms accessible through doors explored.

Normally, an area should be fully filled.
Notice the black spot(unexplored area) in slightly East from the centre.
There is no door to it, so most probably there is a Hidden Room.

Entrance to Hidden Room in normal cases are through Walls.
Try to enter the black spot, walk in through walls, from all directions.

Enter the Hidden Room!



Pvp (Purple Players)

As a Purple(in game name), you can Pvp(Player vs Player), with another Purple, almost everywhere in the Game.

Unless the fight occurs in fake death area like Arena, Purple fights are Real Death.
Real Death is similar to getting killed by a monster.
There is a chance where your grave will appear with all your items inside it.
The player who killed you have access to your grave.

Type /who, the Player Names with a " * " after their names are Purples.
Their location are not displayed in the list.

To become Purple, go to Purple Temple, South of The Thieves House and Kill the Priest.
Then your character will automatically become a Purple.
